The chat spam issue (a massive wait time while all the chat messages scroll up) was fixed thanks to a suggestion from Harkins. Figured I'd throw some props up here for that.
Chat should now be manageable upon page load. Whippee! Thank was probably the biggest hurdle I was staring at before being able to move to open Beta.
